Tanatswa Kubara
I am Tanatswa Kubara, a postgraduate MSc student in International Security and Risk at the University of Southampton, with a BA in History. My education has provided me with a strong analytical framework to assess and respond to political, historical, and security challenges — a foundation I am eager to apply in a research-oriented career within a think tank, policy institution, or political organization. Hands-on experience in political research, policy analysis, and conflict resolution. Skilled in producing evidence-based policy briefs, strategic reports, and advocacy materials for think tanks and NGOs. Strong background in qualitative and quantitative research, data interpretation, and stakeholder engagement. Passionate about global governance, human rights, and peacebuilding, and adept at translating complex geopolitical trends into actionable insights. Committed to contributing to informed policy decisions and effective international cooperation. My future career aspirations lie in roles that allow me to make a meaningful impact — whether that’s at a think tank, governmental department, or international organisation — by helping to solve complex policy problems and foster informed decision-making. With experience in social media communications, project delivery, and working in team-oriented roles, I bring adaptability, discipline, and a passion for international politics, policy, and risk management. My roles outside academia — from bartender positions to freelance social media responsibilities — have fostered strong interpersonal skills, adaptability under pressure, and an ability to connect with a range of people — attributes I am eager to leverage in a policy or research setting.
